Everyday prices and ages changing: Why the change?

I am sure you're wondering why the change. Hopefully the longer post will explain some of it. As I get busier with children and life, sometimes you get overwhelmed and excited and you also  think you can do more than you actually can because of all the excitement. When that happens everything really falls apart and you feel like you can't keep going. (At least that is what happened to me.) I literally got physically sick as well as mentally sick at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. Instead of quitting altogether though, I am changing the ages and styles of hats I will be making with a few exceptions. I appreciate your loyalty and your understanding. I will be focusing on basic preemie hats and newborn hats. My prices will change a little and hopefully will be more attractive. To look at my latest creation go to my store on etsy. Http://Crochethatsforkids. Com My everyday prices will be 4 for $20 for preemies, and 4 for $24  for newborn. Newborn sizes ...

Newest Crochet Project:Very Interesting but Fun!

When I crochet I usually crochet with acrylic. I hardly ever make any crochet hats or purses with cotton. I decided that for this summer I would try something new, since I am crocheting this summer and most people like something cool for summer time. I found this awesome pattern at http://www.susanlinnstudio.etsy.com/. It was something new and I am always on the hunt for something new in the crochet world. :) At first it was kind of difficult but finally decided it was fun and it turned out so elegant looking. This summer crochet hat is soft airy and super cute. It would be perfect for a newborn baby girl and a for her first photo session. Crochet summer hats are super popular of course being summer and all, but the material is different since it is made with size 10 crochet cotton thread. Here is a picture of the latest crochet summer hat for baby girls Enjoy! Till next time.

Crochet Patterns While Sick: Using my Time Wisely... I just can't help it!

So, there is a stomach bug going through our house this week and it was my turn today.  I hardly get sick and the stomach bug is the last thing I want. My baby boy(almost 3) caught if first and passed it on to our other children. My husband helped doing housework and cooking today and he told me with a sad face " Don't ever get sick again".  I just laughed!! Anyways, I didn't waste my time the hours that I was able to sit up. I created two patterns one of which came from a long over due Christmas gift. My sister is very understanding. :) The  Crochet Coin Change Bag was designed by me specifically for a cell phone.  It can be used for keys or any loose items that go into your purse. Here is a picture of it along with the link for you to download it for free. Source: Crochet Cell Phone/Change/Child's Purse via KMcDonald on Craftsy   I hope you enjoy it.

Crochet Summer Sun Hat With Sandals. I have my work cut out for me. :)

Crochet Sandals are so cute. They can be worn by little girls-newborns or toddlers, or they could be perfect for a cute photo prop. It seems though that I have my work cut out for me the rest of this summer, since my models for my crochet hats and sandals are my girls dolls. We aren't super big on dressing up their dolls(not until lately).  They have a list going for me already, on what I am supposed to be making next. It is fun and since it is a new venture for me, I would be happy to do it.! Here is a picture of my newest design. Crochet summer sandals. This set and others will be available in my store soon at http://crochethatsforkids.com

The New Sun Hat 400 Fan Giveaway.

I have been crocheting for a little over 3 years, and mostly in the summer time do I get to do some projects.  This last winter though, was one of my busiest times and thankfully because of orders we were able to provide some gifts for our kids. That was a blessing! I like to find new crochet patterns that are simple and  cute, but sometimes I get stuck. This last week I went through 3 patterns before choosing this cute Sun Hat. Since I have girls, I like to find things that my girls would like as well.  Being summer and it being super hot, the sun hat pattern was perfect. Not only can you look super cute but also be shaded from the sun.  I made a smaller size 12-18 months first, and I'd like to thank my lovely model( Ms. Barbie) lol for displaying it for us. This is the picture of the hat and it is also the contest give away item once we reach 400. Lime Green Sun Hat  http://facebook.com/kmcdonalddesigns Thanks to stitch11.com for providing t...
